Tree Felling & Removal

Safe, controlled removal — including sectional dismantling in tight spaces.

Bringing a tree down safely. Either by straight felling, where there is space to drop it whole, or by sectional dismantling — taking the tree down piece by piece using ropes and climbing — where it is tight, or there is risk to buildings, fences or other trees.

Either way, the process is planned in advance. We don't improvise around your house.

When you'd need it

  • The tree is dead, dying or diseased
  • Storm damage has left it unstable
  • It has outgrown its space or is shading too much
  • It is too close to a building, drive or boundary
  • You are planning building work and it is in the way
  • It is a roadside risk

How we approach it

Every job starts with a site visit. I'll check for Tree Preservation Orders and conservation area status — and handle the paperwork, or tell you exactly what you need to do. Then we plan the drop or dismantle around what's nearby, use ground protection where needed, chip the arisings on site, and leave the area tidy.

Common questions

Do I need permission to fell a tree?

If your tree is in a conservation area, you need to give the council 6 weeks' notice. If it has a Tree Preservation Order, you need formal consent. I'll check both before quoting and tell you what's involved.

What happens to the stump?

Stumps can be ground out on the same visit if you want a clean finish. Just ask for a combined quote.

Will my garden be ruined?

No. We protect lawns and driveways with boards where needed, and the site goes back tidy.

Can the wood be saved for logs?

Yes — if you want logs for a fire or woodburner, we'll cut and stack them for you. Otherwise we take it away.
